Where would youlike to begin?

There is no single path for everyone. Explore an evaluation, talk through a concern in a scheduled consultation, or send a specific question directly to Dr. Bowers.

Find Your Starting Point

The clinical approach

More than a diagnosis.A clearer understanding of the person.

A meaningful assessment considers development, everyday functioning, personal strengths, and the demands a person faces across settings. Two people may show similar challenges for very different reasons.

Understanding those differences can guide a more useful next step, whether that's learning, a conversation, or a formal evaluation. You don't have to decide that before you begin.

A different kind of starting point

Questions people often have

It's okay to be uncertain.

Do we need a diagnosis before we can learn or get support?

No. You can begin with educational resources, frameworks, or the membership without first having a diagnosis. Whether a formal evaluation is useful depends on the question you're trying to answer and your individual circumstances.

Is it too late to explore an evaluation as an adult?

People seek understanding at many different ages. An evaluation may provide clarity or inform support decisions, but it is not the only route to learning about your experiences. A consultation can help you explore the questions that matter to you.

What if I'm worried about labels or stigma?

That concern deserves respect. A diagnosis can be one tool for understanding and accessing support, but it does not define a person. It's reasonable to ask what information an evaluation might provide, what you hope to do with it, and whether another starting point feels more useful right now.

What if I'm a grandparent, educator, therapist, or other professional?

You're welcome here. The educational content is intended for people caring for and supporting neurodivergent individuals across families, schools, clinical practices, and communities. You can begin with public resources, explore the membership, or get in touch about organizational needs.

One approach, several ways to connect

Dr. Bowers works beyond the walls of one clinic.

For more than 25 years, Dr. Bowers has worked directly with children, adults, families, and professionals. Today, he divides his time among creating educational resources, connecting with people remotely, and providing clinical services through Brighton Center for Pediatric Neurodevelopment.

These aren't competing directions. They give people different levels of support. You might start by reading an article, move into Here's What We Can Do™ for deeper learning, or choose an individualized clinical conversation or evaluation when that fits your situation.
