Real questions. Clearer understanding.
You Asked. Here's What We Can Do.
Some of the most important conversations begin with a simple question.
Inspired by questions people ask on social media, this space offers a glimpse of how the Dr. Bowers Knowledge System™ connects everyday challenges with deeper understanding, teaching, and resources.
From Questions to Understanding
More than a quick answer.
A short social media video can introduce an idea. But understanding how that idea applies to a child, family, classroom, or individual situation often requires looking beneath the behavior, considering multiple influences, and exploring what might help. That's what the Dr. Bowers Knowledge System™ is designed to support.
Start with a question
Ask about something you're seeing at home, in school, or in everyday life.
Explore what may be happening
The Knowledge System helps connect the question with explanations and teaching drawn from Dr. Bowers' body of work.

Featured Community Question · School Avoidance My 12-year-old has autism, ADHD, and PDA. School causes intense anxiety, fight-or-flight reactions, and burnout. How can I help him accept support?
What the Parent Shared
A parent described a bright, loving 12-year-old who does well outside school but experiences severe anxiety and distress in the school setting. She explained that medication has not helped, that he struggles to focus, and that school expectations emphasize compliance.
Although he has shown that he can do well in a regular classroom, he frequently refuses to attend and spends much of his time in a contained classroom.
Where the Knowledge System Began
The response began with a shift in how the problem is understood: reduce threat before increasing compliance.
Rather than treating refusal simply as a behavior to correct, the response examined anxiety, overload, perceived safety, autonomy, and environmental demands.
It also connected the question to Dr. Bowers' teaching about school avoidance, demand avoidance, emotional regulation, and the importance of matching expectations to available capacity.
The complete published answer includes additional explanations, possible areas for school accommodations, and links to related teaching and resources.

Explore the MembershipEmotional Regulation Why does my child hold it together at school and fall apart at home?
An Educational Starting Point
A child may appear to manage the school day successfully while using considerable energy to meet social, sensory, cognitive, and emotional demands.
By the time the child gets home, those demands may have accumulated and their available capacity may be much lower.
Instead of focusing only on the behavior that happens after school, it may help to examine what the child has been managing throughout the day and what opportunities for recovery are available.
Inside the membership, the Knowledge System helps members explore questions like this and find related teaching and resources.
Explore the MembershipExecutive Functioning Why can my child do something one day but not the next?
An Educational Starting Point
Having a skill does not guarantee that a child can access it under every condition.
Performance can vary with fatigue, emotional demands, sensory overload, working memory demands, stress, and the amount of support available.
An important question is not simply whether the child knows how to do something, but what conditions allow that skill to be used successfully.
The Dr. Bowers Knowledge System™ helps members explore these patterns and locate related resources across the membership.
